FSM is responsible for Intel's
worldwide wafer fabrication facilities and manufactures microprocessors, micro controllers, flash memories, chipsets, and other devices. Previously, Franz was vice president and general manager of Intel's Communications Infrastructure Group (CIG).CIG
provides silicon, software, and sub-system solutions.Franz was also vice president and general manager of the Network Processing Group, which is responsible for delivering processing elements for the communications infrastructure.Franz joined Intel in 1980 and has held multiple positions within several divisions in Santa Clara and Folsom, Calif. and Chandler, Ariz. during his 25+ year career.Franz was promoted to vice president in 1997 and served as vice president and general manager of the Applied Computing Products Division.In 1999, he was promoted to corporate officer and formed the Network Processor Group (NPG).Franz graduated from Cornell University in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.He
is a native of Pennsylvania and now resides in Arizona.He
