Ford to coordinate BRIC activities
4/29/2014 11:44 AM 0 Comment(s) Tom Ford, BRIC Coordinator Tom Ford has been named coordinator of the Grand Forks Region Base Realignment Impact Committee (BRIC). BRIC committee members represent the Grand Forks Region EDC, Grand Forks County, City of Grand Forks, University of North Dakota, and The Chamber. The committee works to support diversification of the region's economy through Base enhancement and is an interface for public and private sectors in supporting current and future missions of the Grand Forks Air Force Base. "The Air Force Base is a critical component of our region's economy," Ford said. "I look forward to supporting BRIC's efforts and the momentum with Grand Sky and the enhanced use lease the County and BRIC have been successful in advancing. We need the Base and the UAS mission to continue growing." Ford previously was the communications coordinator with the City of Grand Forks' Safer Tomorrows program. He also has been active in leadership roles with the board of directors of the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals. "There are many opportunities to build on and Tom, with his leadership experience and commitment to the community, will further BRIC's involvement and impact." Ford's office is located at the Grand Forks Region EDC, 120 N. 4th St., Grand Forks. Ford has a bachelor of arts degree from Minnesota State University - Moorhead and is pursing a master of public administration degree from the University of North Dakota.

GGFYP's No. 2 officer and substitutes for the president when she is unavailable. Tom was born and raised in Devils Lake, ND and went on to attend and graduate with a degree in Psychology from Minnesota State University Moorhead, where he also ran Track and Field. Tom has called Grand Forks his home for 6 years now with his wife Tiffany, their son Alex, and their two English Pointers, Chance and Ginger. Tom currently works for the city of Grand Forks as a Communications Coordinator. He has the privilege of working with many of Grand Forks' businesses and professionals on a daily basis, seeing the best the best the Grand Forks has to offer. He enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and riding his motorcycle.
