Tom Davenport Thomas H. Davenport is the President’s Distinguished Professor of Information Technology and Management at Babson College in Babson Park, Massachusetts, the director of research at Babson Executive Education, and a fellow at Accenture. He is the author of Thinking for a Living (Harvard Business School Press, 2005). Davenport directed research centers at Ernst & Young, McKinsey & Company, and CSC Index, and most recently, what used to be called the Accenture Institute of Strategic Change. He has written, co-authored or edited ten books, including the first books on business process reengineering, knowledge management, and the business use of enterprise systems.

Tom Davenport holds the President's Chair in Information Technology and Management at Babson College and has taught at the Harvard Business School, the University of Chicago, Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business, and the University of Texas, Austin.
At Babson he leads the Process Management and Working Knowledge Research Centers. Tom is a widely published authority, researcher, executive educator, speaker and consultant on information and knowledge management, business analytics, process management, reengineering, enterprise systems, and electronic business and markets.
In 2003 he was named one of the world's "Top 25 Consultants" (Consulting magazine). In 2005 he was named one of the top 3 "Business/Technology Analysts" in the world (Optimize magazine). In 2007 he was named one of the 100 most influential people in the information technology industry (Ziff-Davis magazines), and was the highest-ranked business academic.
He was previously a partner and Executive Director of the Accenture Institute for Strategic Change, and directed research at several consulting firms, including McKinsey & Company and Ernst & Young.
