Todd Valentine, Director of Development for LW Associates, and Rodney Siddons, Chief Development Officer at Frontier Community Services, made the presentation to the planning commission detailing the proposed 40 housing units that would be potentially located on 7.85 acres of land near Home Depot.
"We think this would be a very good asset for Washington C.H.," said Valentine. "Really, a lot of rural communities are seeing an aging population over the next 20 years," Valentine said. "This is still fairly preliminary," said Valentine. "I think (the City's reaction to the presentation) was encouraging. There is a need for affordable senior housing." Valentine said that no land has been purchased for the proposed development yet and that if the project eventually is accepted by the City, no construction can be expected until late 2014.
