Todd McDonald is senior vice president and regional managing director for Comerica Bank's Technology and Life Science Division based in Reston, Va. McDonald is responsible for developing new business as well as managing and growing banking relationships to venture-backed companies in the Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast.
co-led the opening and growth of the Reston office in 1998 for Imperial Bank
, which was acquired by Comerica Bank
Prior to joining Comerica Bank, McDonald was assistant vice president with the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi in corporate banking in Washington, D.C. Earlier in his career, McDonald was assistant vice president with NationsBank in commercial banking after completing a comprehensive two-year commercial banking training program.
McDonald holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA in finance from San Diego State University.
He has served as a board advisory member for Deloitte's Technology Venture Center and Mindshare, which is an exclusive forum in the Washington, D.C. area designed to help emerging companies and their CEOs build successful businesses.
McDonald has also been a selection committee member for multiple years for the Mid Atlantic Venture Association's Capital Connection Venture Conference, and a venture banking guest speaker at the University of Maryland and the University of Virginia.
