About Todd Hornbeck:
Todd M. Hornbeck is the Chairman, President and CEO of Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. (NYSE:HOS), which spearheaded the legal challenge brought against the Obama Administration's deepwater drilling moratorium on the OCS in response to the April 20, 2010, Deepwater Horizon incident in the Gulf of Mexico ("GoM").
Under Todd's leadership, Hornbeck Offshore
has grown from a "greenfield start-up" in June 1997, with little more than a million dollars of seed capital, a handful of tugs and barges, a business plan and a dream, to a NYSE-listed public company with a market cap and total enterprise value that peaked (before the recent industry downturn) at $1.6 billion and $2.1 billion, respectively, in June 2008.
Mr. Hornbeck, age 42, has served as President and as a Director of Hornbeck Offshore since he co-founded the Company in June 1997.
Until February 2002, he also served as Chief Operating Officer.
In February 2002, Mr. Hornbeck was appointed Chief Executive Officer and in May 2005, he was appointed Chairman of the Board.
worked for the original Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc.
(NASDAQ:HOSS), a company his father, Larry D. Hornbeck, founded in 1981, from 1991 to 1996, serving in various positions relating to business strategy and development.
Following that company's merger with Tidewater Inc. (NYSE:TDW) in March 1996, Todd accepted a position as Marketing Director-Gulf of Mexico with Tidewater, where his responsibilities included managing relationships and overall business development in the U.S. GoM region.
He remained with Tidewater until his formation of the current Hornbeck Offshore.
Todd presently serves on the board of several industry trade organizations, including as Director of the National Ocean Industries Association, Chairman of the Offshore Marine Service Association, and Vice-Chairman of the International Support Vessel Owners' Association.
