Dr. Todd Fruchterman is Chief Medical Officer and Chief Technology Officer for 3M Health Care. Prior to joining the 3M team, Dr. Fruchterman served as Executive Vice President, CTO and CMO at Kinetic Concepts, Inc., in San Antonio, Texas. In his 23-year career, he also has: held various positions at Johnson & Johnson, where he most recently led worldwide biosurgical R&D for the Ethicon division; and directed medical and strategic marketing for Schering-Plough's hepatitis business. Dr. Fruchterman has also held the positions of President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Operating Officer at Response Genetics, Inc.
Dr. Fruchterman's broad-based health care experience spans the clinical, scientific and business arenas. In industry he has focused on innovation methodology and helping find ways for large companies to organically grow through the commercialization of novel technologies. He is the recipient of several prestigious academic awards; he has authored numerous scientific papers on trauma surgery and physiologic responses to hemorrhage; and he has delivered keynote presentations to a number of professional societies and other organizations. Dr. Fruchterman is a member of the Commercialization Advisory Committee of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). He also has served on the Executive Committee of BioMed SA of San Antonio and on the Board of Directors of the Texas Life Science Center. Dr. Fruchterman earned his Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Louisville, and both his MD and BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
