Todd Delay, chief executive of DL Global futures of Columbus, Ohio, was cleared last week by U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf in Lincoln.
...The Commodity Futures Trading Commission
had alleged in September of last year that Delay
was part of a scheme to improperly boost prices of feeder cattle futures.
A two-week trial was held in Lincoln this May, and Kopf on Friday filed his ruling in favor of Delay
Kopf said the commission failed to prove that Delay
"manipulated or attempted to manipulate the feeder cattle futures market, or that the cattle sales information he caused to be reported was false or misleading."
...Delay's attorney, Robert Kincaid Jr. of Columbus, said: "We called four cattle industry experts and the former chief economist for the (commission), who all testified in support of Mr. Delay's actions."
on Monday: "I am happy, relieved and looking forward to continuing to serve my clients in Nebraska and around the country."
