Dr. Tina Anderson starts July 1 as Wiregrass' new president.
VALDOSTA - Dr. Tina Anderson was appointed as the new Wiregrass Georgia Technical College President on June 6.
was chosen and appointed by Commissioner Ron Jackson after a unanimous vote by the state board during its monthly meeting at the TCSG headquarters.
Anderson, who is currently the Moultrie Technical College president, will move into her new position at Wiregrass on July 1.
replaces Dr. Ray Perren, who left the college in May to become president of Lanier Technical College
has seen many changes in the last several years, and has grown in ways many would have never expected.
Anderson plans continuing that growth and looks forward to being a part of Wiregrass'
"There is a terrific faculty and staff at Wiregrass
and we want to capitalize on the leadership and experience that exists here," Anderson
"We want to be more involved in the local high school than ever before with dual-enrollment programs.
We want to be more involved with local businesses and industry.
We have so many experts in so many fields, we want to provide continuing education and training for businesses and industries and do so in a way that is cost effective for the business."
Anderson will likely use the experience of overseeing Moultrie Tech's growth to help her achieve these goals at Wiregrass.

Since I've been here, we have added lots of programs, built buildings, have incredible morale.

They have always have been wonderful communities and I am anxious to get to know everyone and be a part of it."
Anderson has served as Moultrie Technical College president since 2003, though she has been working in the Georgia college system since 1991. Before she was the Moultrie president, Anderson was vice president of academics from 2001 to 2003.
She was Middle Georgia Technical College vice president of student affairs from 2000 to 2001.
She served as director of the career resource center at Middle Georgia College from 1995 to 2000, an associate director of admissions at Georgia Southwestern State University from 1992 to 1995, and an instructor at South Georgia Technical College from 1991 to 1992.
She has a doctorate in education leadership from Georgia Southern University and a master's of science and bachelor's of business administration from Georgia Southwestern State University.
