Hershey Medical Center and ACRIN PA 4001 Study Principal Investigator, presented “Reproducibility of Measures of Cartilage Morphometry, T1rho, and T2 in a Multi-Center Trial (ACRIN PA 4001).†Dr. Mosher’s presentation noted that there is substantial clinical impact of osteoarthritis, which has become a pending epidemic, with an estimate that 60 million Americans will be diagnosed with this disease by 2020.

Timothy J. Mosher MD

Timothy Mosher is Professor of Radiology and Orthopedic Surgery at Penn State University where he is the Division Head for Musculoskeletal Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and serves as the Vice Chair for Radiology Research. Dr. Mosher completed his medical and radiology residency training at Penn State University. While at Penn State he completed a two-year research fellowship in MRI with Dr. Michael B. Smith. In 1995 he completed a clinical magnetic resonance imaging fellowship at Johns Hopkins University under the direction of Dr. Elias Zerhouni.
Dr. Mosher's clinical interests are in musculoskeletal MRI with special interest in imaging of articular cartilage. He has been principal investigator on several externally funded research grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Arthritis Foundation, and the RSNA. He currently serves as principal investigator on the American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ACRIN-PA 4001) protocol evaluating the reproducibility of MRI endpoints of articular cartilage degeneration. Dr. Mosher serves on the Scientific Medical Advisory Board for the Canadian Arthritis Network and Data Safety Monitoring Board for NIAMS/NIH. He is an associate editor for the journals Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, Radiology, and Osteoarthritis and Cartilage.
