About Tim Moon
Tim proudly served for 28 years as a Quartermaster and senior enlisted advisor and retired from the U.S. Navy in 2005 as a Command Master Chief. A significant day was 16 September 1987 when he became a Chief Petty Officer at the Top 4 Club, NAS Cubi Point, RP. Tim served on eight ships, USS Worden (CG-16), USS Mobile (LKA-115), USS Lang (FF-1060), USS Anchorage (LSD-36), USS Kirk (FF-1087), USS Cowpens (CG-63), USS David R. Ray (DD-971) and COMSEVENTHFLT (embarked on USS Blue Ridge LCC-19) and two Type-6 sea duty commands, Patrol Wing One Detachment Cubi Point, RP and Patrol Wing One Detachment Misawa, JA. His shore duty tours included Naval Oceanography Command Facility Cubi Pt RP, Personnel Exchange Program instructor duty at the Air Force Senior Non-commissioned Officers Academy and the Center for Information Dominance, Corry Station.

Rear Admiral Timothy D. Moon Rear Admiral Timothy D. Moon is a native of Naperville, Ill. He received his commission from the U.S. Naval Academy in May 1979 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. He completed his master's in Business Administration (MBA) at Clark University in 1993. Rear Adm. Moon received his diploma from the Naval War College in 2001, and completed the Advanced Joint Professional Military Education curriculum at the Joint Forces Staff College in 2004.
Rear Adm. Moon's initial assignment was aboard USS Sides (FFG-14) where he was a member of the pre-commissioning crew, was designated a surface warfare officer, and served as ordnance officer and anti-submarine warfare officer. Following this tour, he served as an instructor in the Combat Systems Department at the Surface Warfare Officer School, Division Officer Course in Newport, R.I. He transitioned from active duty in 1986 and accepted a commission in the Navy Reserve.
Rear Adm. Moon served in the USS Guam (LPH-9) augment unit, aboard USS George Philip (FFG-12), with the Space and Naval Warfare Headquarters Unit 101 augment unit and on the staff Commander, Naval Coastal Warfare Group 2. Rear Adm. Moon has completed several command tours to include assignments as commanding officer of Mobile Mine Assembly Group Unit 101, Amphibious Construction Battalion 2 Detachment 202, Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit 202, Battle Group Staff 2, Area Air Defense Commander Atlantic and Commander 2nd Fleet Joint Force Maritime Component Command.
Rear Adm. Moon was recalled to active duty in 2001 for 20 months as the operational support officer on the staff of Commander, United States Fleet Forces Command. Rear Adm. Moon was mobilized to active duty and served for 14 months in Djibouti, Africa, as the deputy commander, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He also served on active duty with U.S. Joint Forces Command from June 2007 to January 2008 and on the staff of Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command from March to August 2008, as the deputy chief of staff, Global Force Management and Joint Operations. He is currently serving as the vice director, Standing Joint Force Headquarters, U.S. Joint Forces Command and deputy commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic.
