Tim Hunnicutt, vice president of development for the Hovey Company, said there is a definite need for affordable housing and a more balanced housing market in Marquette. He said the combined income for families with few housing choices in the area was between $20,000 to $32,000 per household.

Hunnicutt said people in that income bracket include young families and young professionals starting out.
