We are delighted to announce that Timothy P. Costello, Middle School Head of Open Window School in Bellevue, Washington, has been appointed by the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees as the Head of School for Science & Arts Academy, effective July 1, 2013.
Tim is the founding head of the middle school at Open Window School.
Over the past six years, he
has been the leader of this middle school program serving gifted students in the Seattle area.
The program has grown from an enrollment of 11 students in grades 6-8 to a program with 124 students in grades 5-8.
Tim has led curricular, administrative, development, marketing and fundraising efforts that have built a middle school program that serves the educational, socio-emotional, and physical needs of gifted students.
During his career, Tim has served as an educator in diverse settings.
He has taught underprivileged students in the Mission District in San Francisco, served as a teacher in an independent, parochial school, and also taught gifted students at Open Window School.
In addition to his Middle School Head experience, he has served as the primary administrator of a lower school program as Vice-Principal at St. Anthony-Immaculate Conception School in San Francisco, California.

Tim received his B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University and his M.A. in Education from the University of San Francisco.
