Currently Tim is responsible for environmental initiatives and product development for Forbo North America, where he is a member of the executive management team, providing strategic vision and direction for North American operations. He participates in Forbo Flooring Systems International Technical Committee, a member and international PR representative of the Forbo Flooring Environment Group, as well as on the editorial team for ArchIdea A&D publication.
After obtaining his BFA degree and then working toward his Masters in Marketing and Communicative Arts and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond VA, Tim then taught for the next two years leaving VCU in 1987. After a short time working in the aircraft industry Tim moved on to Forbo. Tim has been with Forbo for over 20 years and involved in the flooring industry since 1970. Since employed by Forbo he has been fortunate enough to under take many challenging responsibilities in many different departments both in North America and in Europe. Tim's responsibilities have ranged from the Technical department to Sales Management to Director overseeing the Technical, Marketing and Customer Service in North America, then spending time in Europe as Product Innovation Manager for the linoleum division.
Simultaneously, Tim has served on the Board of Directors for United Stated Green Building Council, where he helped grow organization from $17M to $108M in revenue and staff 20 to 200+ in 6 years. As well, he has served as Board President for the Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments, and as a Board member of a local North Eastern PA Economic Development Corporation. He is also an active committee member with ASTM and ISO, developing standards for the flooring and building industries. He considers his 2010 role as the USGBC Board Chair as a highlight in his career and volunteer work with non-profit organizations.

Tim is on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC Chair-elect) and the Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments (ASBE President), a member of the USGBC Governance Committee, Chair of the USGBC Ethics Panel, Vice-Chairman of the ASTM Resilient Flooring Committee, a member of the ISO Flooring Committee, a member of the ASTM and ISO Sustainable Building Committee, and involved in other environmental organizations such as the CA EPP database development and The Institute for Market Transformation to Sustainability (MTS). In his spare time, Tim presents at various conferences on sustainability issues.
