But jail administrators must balance the need for family time and strict security measures to protect the safety of inmates as well as the public, said Tim Bowen, North Central Regional Jail administrator.

understands the aggravation of some family members when they find out what the visitation rules are, but they are necessary.

Inmates are patted down before visits and strip-searched after visits, Bowen
