Tiare Clifford who formed Tiare Ote'a of San Francisco was Nene's first teacher in Hula and Tahitian Dancing. She later danced for Nelani Rogers. She discovered Polynesian dancing was her passion and taught it at Nemenzo. Currently she is the instructor for her group and teaches all levels for both boys and girls. The result of her methodical and intense dance instruction has awarded her students 1st place at various Tahitian Competition and group awards from amateur to professional entries since 1999.

Her teacher was Raymoki Engler a student of Tiare Clifford who formed Tiare Ote'a of San Francisco during the 1970's. Nikki's personal accomplishments have been noted with various awards on her sleeve. She was the first Miss Hilo Heiva 2000 in Hawaii, 1st place Overall Female Soloist at the Heiva I Reno 2002 and again received 1st place in 2003. In 2004 she placed 1st in Solos at the San Jose Tahiti Fete and most recently last year she won the Miss San Jose Tahiti Vahine 2005. She has traveled and competed with Nemenzo in competitions in Florida, Nevada, California and Hawaii. Her travels took her to Faa'a, Tahiti in the summer of 2004 where she danced her group in a festival hosted by the Tahitian Dance Master Mr. Coco Hotahota. Aside from dancing Hula and Ori she also trains soloists that have placed in various competitions.
