Thomas Ulrich, B.Sc., M.Ed.DirectorTom Ulrich is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Teachers' Retirement Allowances Fund of Manitoba, a position he has held since 1999.His
involvement in the pensions and benefits field extends back a quarter century.A teacher by profession, Tom began his involvement in pensions and benefits as chair of The Manitoba Teachers' Society (MTS) Pensions Committee in 1974.The following year he was appointed to the senior administrative staff of the MTS with a portion of his assignment being in the pensions and benefits area.He
has worked continuously in the area ever since.In 1999, he retired from MTS as its Assistant General Secretary.As President and CEO of TRAF, Tom undertook a full review of its investment management.
The review resulted in the merger of its wholly owned investment management firm with Greystone Managed Investments Inc.
and a restructuring of their investment strategy.Tom's continuing work with TRAF
's investment management strategy is focused on risk management.Tom also serves currently on the Board of Directors of Greystone Capital Management Inc. and the Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM) and is a member of the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC).
