Thom Segerson is an internist and endocrinologist with a background in academic and pharmaceutical medicine. He received his MD at the University of Kansas, and trained in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Endocrinology at Tufts-New England Medical Center. He was on faculty at Tufts Medical School in Boston and Oregon Health and Science University and the Vollum Institute, both in Portland, OR.
He spent nearly 13 years with Bayer Healthcare, located in the US, Canada, Mexico City and Berlin, where he was successively responsible for global clinical development and the medical organizations of Canada, Latin America, Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa.
To extend his focus on the promotion of equitable access to healthcare technologies through alignment of development and delivery to the most compelling health needs, Thom is currently enrolled in the Master's program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with a focus in Public Health Policy. Dr. Thomas Segerson is the Vice President, Medical and Scientific Affairs, Pharmaceuticals Division of Bayer HealthCare in Canada. He is responsible for the Regulatory, Scientific Development, Clinical Operations, Clinical Product Development, and Drug Safety and Medical Information functions.
