Liggens, who resides in Westerville, Ohio, with her husband Thomas E. Liggens, has been teaching in the Worthington School District since 1990. She taught at Westbrooke Elementary in the Bridgeport Exempted Village School District from 1975-1979 and from 1980-1990, in Wheeling.
Liggens currently serves on her
school district's multicultural committee.She is also a recruiter for the district and has worked on the mentor program.She is also a Praxis III assessor for the Ohio Department of Education and is a member of the NEA, OEA, WEA and a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.She
is also active in the school PTA
performed postgraduate work at The Ohio State University
and an administrative certification program through the University of Dayton
.She received a masters degree in communication studies in 1986 from West Virginia University. Liggens
received the Golden Apple from Ashland Oil Company
in recognition of her
excellence in teaching.In 2003, she
