Thomas B Knost - Ph.D. Consultant Thomas B Knost - Ph.D. - Consultant Mr. Thomas Knost has 33 years of teaching experience with the General Electric Company.Over this period he worked in seven different engineering roles, which included Mechanical Design of Combustors, Development of Structural Analysis programs for Mechanical Design, Manager of GEAE Advanced Course in Engineering, Manager for CFM56 Life Management Program, Project Engineer for CFM56 CERT & Life Management Programs, Manager of CFM56-5 HPT Rotor Design, and Senior Staff Engineer in Turbine Design. Mr. Knost has also been an instructor in GEAE's Advance Course in Engineering and an Adjunct Professor in UC Aerospace Department since 1967.He is a part of the GEAE Turbo-Machinery-Rotor Mechanical Design Board and has authored its Design Practice on Rotor Overspeed.He is presently writing texts on Calculus of Variations, Tensor Analysis, and Differential Geometry in the Engineering Sciences. Mr. Knost is a Graduate from the University of Cincinnati's Co-operative School of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
