Father Thomas Feldhaus, pastor of St. John Neumann Parish, Pleasant Run, has been put on administrative leave by Cincinnati Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk, pending investigation of an allegation that he inappropriately touched a minor on two occasions around 1979.
The leave, which is the strongest step a diocesan bishop can take on his
own, does not represent a presumption of guilt on the part of the Archdiocese.
Nevertheless, the Chancellor confronted Father Feldhaus
with the limited information available about the accusation.Father Feldhaus
expressed shock and did not acknowledge guilt. The Archdiocese also brought the allegation to the attention of the Hamilton County
prosecutor's office. On Monday, December 1, Archbishop Pilarczyk received a letter from the news director of WXIX-TV, Fox 19, detailing accusations that the complainant made about Father Feldhaus to the station in October.
