Father Thomas Feldhaus, pastor of St. John Neumann Parish in Pleasant Run, has been put on administrative leave by Cincinnati Archbishop Daniel Pilarczyk, pending a child sexual abuse investigation. According to the archdiocese, they received a phone call last month from a family member of the accuser. However, the accuser said he would not speak to the Archdiocesan Chancellor or to any other priest. The archdiocese said, therefore, they have been unable to interview the accuser and his accusation has not been confirmed by the church. The accuser's family said the abuse took place on two occasions in 1979, when the alleged victim was a minor. According to a press release from the archdiocese, when the chancellor approached Feldhaus, the priest expressed shock and did not acknowledge guilt. The allegation has also been brought to the Hamilton County Prosecutor's office, the archdiocese said. The leave, which is the strongest step a diocesan bishop can take on his own.A priest on administrative leave may not celebrate the sacraments, engage in priestly ministry, or present himself as a priest in any way. Feldhaus was ordained in 1976 and has worked at Our Lady of Victory in Delhi Township, St. Therese the Little Flower in Mt. Airy, St. Michael in Ripley and from 2001 to present, St. John Neumann. He was also a chaplain at Good Samaritan Hospital from 1988 to 1990.

Pilarczyk, pending investigation of an allegation that he inappropriately touched a minor on two occasions around 1979. On Monday, December 1, Archbishop Pilarczyk received a letter from the news director of WXIX-TV, Fox 19, detailing accusations that the complainant made about Father Feldhaus to the station in October.Thomas Feldhaus was ordained a priest in 1976.He has had the following assignments: 1976-1979, associate pastor, St. Therese the Little Flower, Mt.
