Thom earned his Bachelors degree from Loyola University with an emphasis on financing the needs of small business and went on to the University of Southern California and graduated Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in entrepreneurship and venture management.

has worked on a range of major financings and related opportunities both in and outside the banking industry.
background includes managing/syndicating nuclear and fossil fuel project financings up to $150 million dollars; financing the operating requirements of Fortune 1000 companies; former principal in a microcomputer based software firm with a customer base in 28 states; business financial product consulting and sales for the worlds largest securities brokerage firm; regional responsibility for Union Bank
of California's small business lending; more than five years as the Director of Strategic Planning for the Community Banking & Investment Services Group of Union Bank
