Teddy Newcomer, Vice President of Operations / Corporate Beverage Manager
A veteran of Rhode Island's hospitality industry, Ted Newcomer
career in his
native Jersey Shore as soon as he
could get a job, working in kitchens and dining rooms throughout New Jersey.
Growing passionate about the industry, Ted entered Johnson & Wales University, earning an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelors of Science in Foodservice Management.
Settling in what was to become a culinary mecca, Ted
first position at XO Café
in Providence in 1998, working as a cook, a server and the Providence Monthly-named exceptional bartender, serving up such libations as the Espresso Martini and White Sangria, voted the "Best Drink to Keep You Up at Night" and "Best Sangria," respectively, by Rhode Island Monthly
In 2001, Ted was promoted to Assistant Manager at XO and then Bar Manager at Chow Fun's second restaurant, 10 Prime Steak & Sushi.
With the addition of the restaurant group's third property, Big Fish (now Rick's Roadhouse), Ted
earned the title of Corporate Beverage Manager, responsible for building award-winning wine lists and cocktail menus for each restaurant.
Now, as Director of Operations for Chow Fun
, Today, Ted
is responsible for managing the overall beverage program and managing restaurant operations at XO Café
, Ten Prime Steak & Sushi, Rick's Roadhouse, Luxe Burger Bar, and Harry's Bar & Burger
A native of Bradley Beach, NJ, Ted
resides in Providence with his
wife, Kristen, and two children, Cody and Lily.
