H.E. Mr. Tharit attended gave an interview to Jornal da Comercio in Rio de Janeiro
On 26 October 2012 Mr. Tharit Charungvat, Ambassador of Thaialnd to the Federative Republic of Brazil gave an interview to Jornal da Comercio, a leading business newspaper in Rio de Janeiro on the topics of investment and business opportunities in Brazil for Thai businesses, energy cooperation between the two countries, and the promotion of Thailand for Brazilian tourists.
said that Thailand and Brazil are number one trading partners in ASEAN and Latin America respectively.
On tourism, Ambassador Charungvat
said that in 2011, there were almost 20 million tourists traveling to Thailand and among them were 26,000 Brazilians.
The tourism industry is a sustainable business that does not used up natural resources while creating significant amount of income for the country.
The government of Thailand therefore gave high emphasis on the development of this sector.
viewed that Thailand is a good choice for Brazilian tourists when compared with the cost of traveling to other countries.

State of Minas Gerais, an Open Opportunity for Thailand
On 19-22 November 2012, Mr. Tharit Charungvat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand joined other 5 of the 7 Heads of Mission of ASEAN Embassies in Brasilia namely: Ambassador of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Chargé d' Affairs of Singapore, visited State of Minas Gerais to explore the opportunities for greater interaction between the State and ASEAN, both as a group and with individual ASEAN country.
Joining other ASEAN Ambassadors, Mr. Charungvat shared with Governor, Mayor, Federation of Industries, Federation of Commerce and Entrepreneurs on the development and strength of ASEAN.
Mr. Charungvat showed his readiness to work with the store in many aspects, including match-making with exporters in Thailand, facilitating representatives of Verdemar to join the Thai Food Exhibition which has been organized every year in May in Bangkok, helping the store to do market promotion schemes such as training Verdemar's staffs for in-store Thai food demonstration coupling with media campaigns.
