Director of Business Development

Terry Nichols was appointed Boeing Defence Australia's director of Business Development in March 2011.
He is responsible for leading the Business Development function, which develops and executes strategies to create, shape and capture new business for Boeing Defence Australia.
Prior to this position, Nichols was the senior manager of Strategy & Business Development for the Integrated Logistics, Defence and Government Services, and Tactical Derivate Aircraft divisions of Boeing Defence Australia.
During this time, Nichols
has led a restructure of the Boeing Defence Australia's
Business Development organization, revitalized the national corporate strategy and focused new business growth.
In this time, Boeing Defence Australia
has successfully secured several major aircraft and C4ISR sustainment contracts and is actively persuing a growth strategy.
was involved in expanding the scope of its Army Aviation Training and Training Support contract, and established a strategic partnership with Thales for the Land 121 Phase 4 campaign for the Australian Army's
future acquisition of light protected mobility vehicles.
Other positions Nichols has held within Boeing Defence Australia
since joining the company in March 2006 have included program manager for Engineering and Technical Services, Business Development Manager for Sustainment Operations and Training, and Proposal/Training Operations Manager for major tenders related to Defence Communications and Land Systems.
Before Boeing, Nichols held several roles within the Australian Defence Force (ADF), serving in a variety of operational artillery units and senior army headquarters organisations.
While he was executive manager of Defence Capability Development for the Australian Army's Training Command, he received a commendation for exemplary performance for the introduction of new capabilities into the ADF and was a representative on several senior major acquisition and capability committees.
Nichols holds a Graduate Diploma of Resource Management and Diploma of Training Development from the Australian Army, a Diploma in Applied Linguistics - French from the Australian Defence Force School of Languages, and an Associate Diploma of Personnel Administration from the Royal Military College, Duntroon.
He is currently completing a Masters of Management with Southern Cross University.
