BackgroundMr. Hurst's career began over 27 years ago as an Assistant Vice President of Altoona Hospital.He
further was involved with the development of the risk management and insurance department of The Western Pennsylvania Hospital
, a statewide hospital-owned professional liability insurance company, as well as organizing and developing a large pooled risk excess liability insurance retention trust.Mr. Hurst has served as president of statewide and regional risk management organizations in both Texas and Pennsylvania.He is a recognized leader in Healthcare Risk Management, and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) from the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers (ASHRM). Mr. Hurst graduated from The Pennsylvania State University (PSU) with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospital and Health Administration, and has a Masters in Health Administration from the University of St. Francis, Illinois.He also holds certifications from the Texas Department of Insurance as a Loss Control Representative, a Field Safety Representative with a specialty in Hospitals and a Property and Casualty Insurance License in the State of Texas.
