Inspired by these "antojitos mexicanos" on his many exploratory culinary trips to Mexico, Ted Stoner, Qdoba's head chef and director of strategic product development, began developing and testing Mini Street Tacos with guests almost two years ago - even before the gourmet street food trend began taking the U.S. by storm.
Starting today Qdoba is excited to be one of the first fast-casual brands to bring the street food trend inside the restaurant.
"Every year we travel to Mexico to research Mexican cuisine trends and source new, exciting flavors.

Ted StonerDirector of Strategic Product DevelopmentTed Stoner is a veteran in the restaurant industry with nearly 20 years of experience that spans from restaurant management to corporate chef, including 12 years at headquarters for national restaurant chains.Stoner most recently worked with Rock Bottom Restaurants (RBR) Inc., as a commodity buyer, a manager of distribution, and a manager of purchasing.
While at RBR Inc.
played an integral roll on both Old Chicago & Rock Bottom menu development teams supporting the R & D chefs in sourcing and customization of products. In addition, Stoner worked with New World Restaurant Group (NWRGI) as a corporate chef, where he developed menu items and catering programs for the organization's Einstein Bros and Noah's New York Bagel brands.In addition to his R & D work for NWRGI, Stoner also worked as Director of F & B purchasing using his product knowledge and culinary background to find synergies resulting from the consolidation of the 5 leading bagel chains.Stoner also served as manager of research and development for the Baker's Square Brand, where he developed menu items for promotions.Stoner earned an associate's degree in culinary arts and a bachelor's degree in food service management, from Johnson & Wales University.
