Ted Miltenberger , retired after over 20 years as head of the theater department at the American School of Paris, having taught in Milan and acted and taught in the US.
He was one of the founders of the groundbreaking International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA), which organizes festivals and promotes educational exchanges between schools throughout the world. Ted now teaches as an adjunct for Michigan State University and gives workshops and seminars in ensemble technique for the classroom around the world.

Ted MiltenbergerTed Miltenberger has worked in theater education for more than 20 years.He has established theater curricula in Madison, WI, Milan, Italy and Paris, France, where he now heads the theater department at the American School of Paris.He is concurrently director of the Encore! summer theatre program, which he founded in 1995.Ted is also a co-founder of ISTA, the International Schools Theatre Association, a past president now continuing to serve on its Executive Council and hosting and participating in ISTA theater festivals, workshops and symposia throughout the world.For the past ten years, he has worked with Michigan State University to develop a curriculum applying ensemble techniques to the classroom, with an emphasis on international education.Ensemble-building relies on games and exercises used in theater work to build the trust, cooperation and interaction that engenders more effective learning and collegial teamwork.Ted also administers MSU's masters degree program in Valbonne, France and participates in international educational conferences in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.He holds a B.A. from Ball State University and an M.A. from MSU.Return to Conference Information

Ted Miltenberger has worked with Michigan State University for the past ten years in developing a course applying ensemble techniques to the classroom.
He has worked in theatre education for more than 30 years, establishing theatre curricula in Madison, Wisconsin; Milan, Italy; and Paris, France, where he recently retired as the head of the theatre department at the American School of Paris. He was co-founder of the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) and is a past president. He continues to host and participate in ISTA theatre festivals, workshops and symposia throughout the world.
