Prior to co-founding SBP, Ted was also a co-founder of Brandwise, Inc., leading the company's sales, marketing, and business developments efforts through its first seven years of growth. Previously, Ted was Principal and Owner of New York-based drummers, Inc., a 40-year-old houseware and gift wholesaler. Under Ted's leadership, drummers grew from 6 to more than 50 employees, becoming one of the largest and most visible wholesale distribution and brokerage organizations on the eastern seaboard, with customers ranging from specialty retailers to mass market venues such as Bed Bath & Beyond, QVC, Babies"R"Us, Federated Department Stores (now Macy's, Inc.), Linens 'N Things, Barnes & Noble, OfficeMax, Carlton Cards (retail division of American Greetings), Target, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Wegmans Food Markets, and David's Bridal.
In 2000 drummers, Inc. merged with The Ivystone Group, with the combined company now encompassing more than 200 employees and operations across 48 states. Ted supervised and helped orchestrate The Ivystone Group to diversify its product selection, acquire other comapnies with strategic product offerings and geographic positions, and centralize corporate offices. Although no longer active in an operational capacity with The Ivystone Group nor Brandwise, Ted sits on the board of both companies.
Ted holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Boston University.

Alene Candles - Manufacturing Today; Best Practices for Industry Leaders

Because of this, when Harl and his business partner, Ted Goldberg, purchased the Milford, N.H., candle manufacturing company during economically shaky times in the fourth quarter of 2008, the two did so with confidence.
...
Both Harvard Business School grads, Harl and Goldberg launched private investment partnership Silver Beacon Partners (SBP) LLC in 2008 to acquire and operate a unique company with significant growth potential.
...
After a few conversations with the owners and visits to the plant, sale negotiations were finalized and, today, Harl oversees the daily operations and Goldberg specializes in sales and business development.
...
"Ted identified three or four people who had sales experience to create the company's first sales team, and I changed the operations reporting structure, which cut a lot of strain and conflict," he notes. "Now things are running much more smoothly."
