Dr. Tarun Kothari graduated from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, India. He completed 3 years Internal Medicine residency at Hutzel Women's Hospital in Detroit, Michigan in 1977. Dr. Kothari is an attending Gastroenterologist at Rochester General Hospital and Unity Hospital since 1979. Dr. Kothari received Physician of the year award in 2007 from his peers and has published extensively. He volunteers as teaching faculty at Unity Hospital and had been Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester. Dr. Kothari and his wife were honored by the Unity Board of directors and Unity Foundation by naming the Unity Endoscopy Unit as Kamal and Tarun Kothari Center for Endoscopy and Digestive diseases in 2012. Dr. Kothari has varied clinical practice interests including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatobiliary diseases, barrett's esophagus, viral hepatitis and therapeutic endoscopy including ERCP, VCE, Bravo capsules, BARRX Ablations, and therapeutic stents.
