Tania's a straight-up rock star. A former Mara Foundation Entrepreneur Fellow and Stanford grad, she joined LivelyHoods in 2010, and brought like, a serious business acumen with her. Prior to LivelyHoods, she worked as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley, where she focused on helping nonprofits and social ventures manage their assets and investments. Before that, she was a biz/tech analyst at EZLearn, an educational technology startup in Brazil. But it was after serving as an adviser and volunteer for two years with KITO International, that Tania moved to Kenya, where she built and managed iSmart, LivelyHoods' very first youth salesforce.

The co-founders of LivelyHoods, Tania Laden and Maria Springer, have a long history together that made them as close as sisters.
The two were best friends through middle school and high school and they remained close while Tania went to Stanford and Maria attended UCLA.
After working with Kenyan street youth for two years, Maria asked Tania to leave her job with Morgan Stanley and work with her in Kenya.
After a few months, Tania and Maria decided to start a social enterprise - LivelyHoods - that would channel the natural sales ability of street youth toward a life of self-sufficiency.
