Rucker Named to Leadership Post
PINEHURST, N.C. - NCFRW Board of Directors elected Suzanne Rucker to fill the position of NCFRW Capital Region Vice President during the spring board meeting.

Before serving at the state level, Rucker was active in the Fayetteville Republican Women Club where she served as the First Vice-President of Programs, Public Relations Chairman, and Newsletter Editor before being elected President of the club.
Additionally, she has been active in various state-wide campaigns.Rucker was the County Coordinator in both the Daughtry for Governor campaign and Elizabeth Dole for U.S. Senate campaign.

"Women comprise the largest voting group and, therefore, have the ability to elect today's leaders at all levels - local, state and national," said Suzanne Rucker following her election.She continued, "The objectives of the Federation of Republican Women include promoting political education and activity; increasing the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government; encouraging loyalty to the Republican Party and its principles and candidates in all elections; and to promote the principles of freedom, equality and justice upon which the government of this country is founded.I'm honored to be included among the Republican women of North Carolina who are actively making a difference by determining who will lead our communities, our state and our country."

Rucker is active in the Fayetteville Community as a member of the Fayetteville Redevelopment Commission and a commission liaison with the Cumberland County Business Council.She also participates on the advisory councils for public radio station WFSS and the Fayetteville Area Catholic Social Ministries.
Suzanne, a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles, is married to Dr. Tinsley W. Rucker.

Suzanne Rucker is a former officer who strongly supports the military and President Bush.

Suzanne Rucker helped organize a March 8 ‘Support Your Troops' rally that drew about 1,000 people to Rowan Park.
Suzanne Rucker believes the United States is justified in attacking Iraq regardless of whether the United Nations Security Council approves.
Last week, she and others organized a rally to make public their support for the troops and their mission.
"The world has given Saddam Hussein 12 years to disarm, and each step along the way he has avoided doing that," she said."It's time to stop this.We have to bring some conclusion."
Rucker, who is 56, is president of the Fayetteville Republican Women's Club and a member of the Fayetteville Redevelopment Commission.
Rucker said she hopes military action can be avoided, but she will support whatever President Bush decides.
"I'm an optimist," she said."There may still be a way to avoid war.But if we aren't able to do so, then we as a people need to stand together and support our troops."
Rucker, along with JoAnne Jones and others, helped organize a March 8 "Support Your Troops" rally that drew about 1,000 people to Rowan Park.

Rucker has close ties to the military.Her father was in the Navy, and she served two years as an Army officer at the close of the Vietnam War.
