...Susan Wasike holds a bachelor of Education degree in Home Economics from Kenyatta university.
In addition, she
has worked for more than seven years with organizations working in the area of conservation and development.She worked as a project officer for Indigenous Fruits and Vegetables conservation project for the Kenya Energy and Environmental Organization (KENGO) for a period of four years, in the early 90's.She then served as the KENGO Mt. Elgon Region Co-ordinator for three years. Susan was a member of the Formulation Mission Team for MEICDP, dealing especially with Community Participation in the Project.She
has undertaken a number of training courses and has participated in several workshops.She
participated in the Biodiversity Analysis of Africa (BAA) training workshop as a member of the biodiversity monitoring and Evaluation (BIOME) Project.Susan was a member of a team that undertook an evaluation of the Biodiversity Programme of Kabore Tambi National Reserve (Bukina Faso), and Boucle du Boule National Reserve in Mali.
In recognition of her
contributions in her
present position, she
is being sponsored to a three week training on "Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation", to be held at the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction
in the Philippines, in March 2001.
