After graduating from Conservation Program at the Institute of Archaeology, London, England, she worked in the private sector for dealers and collectors before returning to her home in Canada where she ultimately took a position at the ROM as Archaeological Metals Conservator.Her current interests include research into corrosion products on copper and its alloys, occurring naturally in the environment, indoors and outdoors and as the result of storage and treatment.

Susan Stock cleans the corrosion from ancient metal artefacts so museum-goers can see the original beauty When Susan Stock (BA 1972 UC) began her studies at U of T in 1969, she fell in love with archeology. After completing a program in preserving ancient materials at the University College of London's Institute of Archaeology, Stock's expertise took her around the world, from Turkey to Afghanistan. Today, she is a senior conservator at the Royal Ontario Museum, where she primarily specializes in cleaning corroded metal artefacts.
