The people behind F Words are Susan Fenton and Sarah Finch.
Susan has worked extensively as a news and feature writer for various business and trade magazines and in internal comms; as a reporter on local newspapers and a sub-editor on national newspapers and on consumer and B2B publications; and as a copywriter/editor for various corporate and small business clients. She has worked on publications as diverse as the Daily Mirror, the Evening Standard, Hello! magazine, an online lifestyle magazine for the over-50s and trade magazines covering the greeting card, gift, cookware and fancy dress industries, as well as staff newspapers at British Telecom and HSBC and for a women's interest features agency. In her current role as a freelance contributor to a regional business lifestyle magazine she has carried out hundreds of interviews with board-level executives in sectors as diverse as retail, legal, insurance, banking, advertising, technology, accountancy, construction, telecoms and healthcare, on matters as varied as recruitment, IT, business development, the definition of success and what makes an effective company director. Susan also holds the newspaper journalism certificate of the National Council for the Training of Journalists as well as professional qualifications in internal communications, PR and marketing. Our interests Both Susan and Sarah have an interest in environmental and left-of-centre politics, Sarah being a former Green Party borough councillor and current co-chair of her local party and having worked as regional liaison officer for a Green MEP - and Susan being a candidate in this year's local council elections and being on the local party's fundraising committee. Both enjoy creative writing; Susan is an amateur songwriter and occasional blogger (see the posts on this site) and Sarah writes short stories and aspires to write about nature and landscape, having been 'highly commended' in a BBC Wildlife Magazine essay competition.
