El Segundo, Calif. - Affinity Internet, Inc., a leading Web hosting and application service provider, announced today the appointment of Stuart Shelly to serve as its Chief Financial Officer.
, who brings more than 17 years of finance, banking, accounting and capital management experience to Affinity
, will be responsible for managing the company's finance, accounting, administration and human resource functions.

Prior to joining Affinity, Shelly was senior vice president, western region manager for GE Capital's Merchant Banking Group with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Previous positions held by Shelly include vice president of acquisition and private finance for Dean Witter Reynolds in New York where he managed capital arrangements for small, mid-sized and growth companies.

He was also a founding member of KPMG's strategic alliance investment bank firm, KPMG BayMark Capital, LLC.
Shelly began his banking and finance career at Bank of America in San Francisco, where he worked in the capital markets area.
In 1986, he
became one of the founding members of the bank's Leveraged Finance Group, where he
actively engaged in leveraged buyouts and leveraged financing working in San Francisco, New York and Madrid.
Shelly earned both his BS in Accounting and his MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Denver.
