Steven L. Rader practices civil litigation in both state and federal courts. He joined the firm in 2010.
Mr. Rader has litigated on behalf of homeowners' associations, government agencies, and public employee associations. He has handled trials and appeals. Most recently, he represented the Nellie Gail Ranch Owners Association in litigation against a homeowner concerning building restrictions and deadlines. In that case he obtained a favorable judgment at trial, withstood two appeals, and attained six-figure award of attorneys' fees on behalf of his client. Mr. Rader has also served as outside trial counsel for the City and County of Los Angeles and other local agencies. He has advised City Managers, City Council members, Chiefs of Police and Fire and other government officials on matters related to litigation, elections, contracts and, employment and labor issues. He has successfully defended the County of Los Angeles in wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases and successfully defended the City of Los Angeles, and its Fire Department, in a federal class action brought to challenge the City's hiring practices.
Mr. Rader received his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Utah (1991) where he was elected to the Golden Key and Phi Kappa Phi National Scholastic Honor Societies. In 1994, Mr. Rader received his law degree from the Emory University School of Law. He passed the Georgia Bar Examination while still in law school. While at Emory, Mr. Rader also served as a Managing Editor of the Bankruptcy Developments Journal.

Steven L. Rader joined Neuland, Nordberg, Andrews & Whitney in 2005 after a successful ten-year professional experience as a civil litigator before the state and federal courts in downtown Los Angeles. He served as outside trial counsel for the City and County of Los Angeles and other local government agencies. He has advised city councils, chiefs of police and other high ranking local officials on an almost daily basis. He has successfully defended the County of Los Angeles in wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases and he successfully defended the City of Los Angeles, and its Fire Department, from a class action brought to challenge the City's hiring practices under a former consent decree with the United States Department of Labor. In 1994, Steve received the Doctor of Law degree from the Emory University School of Law, in Atlanta, Georgia and passed the Georgia Bar Exam while still in law school.
While at Emory, he received honors in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Constitutional Law, Church & State and Contracts, among other courses. He also served as the Managing Editor for the Bankruptcy Developments Journal, and his article, "The Treatment of Workers' Compensation Insurance Premiums in the Employer's Bankruptcy: a Question of Priorities" was selected by the editors for publication.
Steve advises homeowner's associations and represents them in mediation, arbitration and civil litigation.
