Steven L. Rader joined Neuland, Nordberg, Andrews & Whitney in 2005 after a successful ten-year professional experience as a civil litigator before the state and federal courts in downtown Los Angeles.
He served as outside trial counsel for the City and County of Los Angeles and other local government agencies. He has advised city councils, chiefs of police and other high ranking local officials on an almost daily basis. He has successfully defended the County of Los Angeles in wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases and he successfully defended the City of Los Angeles, and its Fire Department, from a class action brought to challenge the City's hiring practices under a former consent decree with the United States Department of Labor. He has also successfully defended many police officers accused of excessive force. Steve received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Utah in 1991, where his coursework emphasized mathematics and macro-monetary theory. He graduated in the top 10% of his class and was elected to the Golden Key and Phi Kappa Phi National Scholastic Honor Societies.
