Named Fraternity's New
General GovernorMOOSEHEART, Aug. 14 - Steven F. Greene, PSG, of Rock Hill, SC, who has served the Moose fraternity on the International level for 22 years, has agreed to become its tenth General Governor, effective Sept. 15. Greene's appointment by Director General William B. Airey was unanimously approved by the Supreme Council - the fraternity's corporate board of directors - in a telephone-conference meeting on Aug. 14.
...As General Governor, Greene will be responsible for all matters regarding interpretation and compliance by Moose fraternal units with the organization's Constitution and General Laws; for enforcement of policies mandated by the Supreme Council, and approval of all dispensations required by the General Laws.

...Greene, who served the fraternity as Supreme Governor during the 1998-99 Moose year, was serving most recently as Chairman of the Moosehaven Board of Directors, after having served since 2002 as Chairman of the Moose Charities Board.

...Greene, 60, is a retired funeral director and independent businessman who joined the Loyal Order of Moose at Rock Hill, SC Lodge 1720 in 1973.He served through all the officer's chairs of that Lodge as well as having chaired several standing committees, and is a Past Governor.He is a Past President of the South Carolina Moose Association, having also served that Association as a Deputy Supreme Governor; and is a former International Ritual Champion. Greene joined Palmetto Moose Legion 86 in 1974 and is a Past President of that unit.He received the Fellowship Degree of Honor in 1979 and the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 1985.He is a member of the 75 Division of the Moose 25 Club.
