Town of Vermont Board Meeting Minutes April 2004

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman, Steven Frame.
The Clerk certified the meeting notice had been posted at the Black Earth State Bank, Amcore Bank in Mt. Horeb, on the Town Web Site and on the front door of the Town Hall; also published in the News Sickle-Arrow and Mt. Horeb Mail newspapers. Present: Chairman, Steven Frame; Supervisors, Doug Meier, David Dybdahl and Mark Sherven;Town Clerk Marian Swoboda and Treasurer Sarah Danz. Motion was made by Steve Frame seconded by Doug Meier and carried to approve the payment of bills check #9989 through #10043 totaling $43,900.29 Motion was made by Mark Sherven seconded by Steve Frame and carried to table the request. Motion was made by Doug Meier seconded by Steve Frame and carried that the Horribly Hilly Hundred(s) group must pay last's year fee before a permit is issued for this year. Steve Frame attended a "brain storming" meeting on voter turnout called by the Town of Mazomanie along with the chairs from the Towns of Black Earth and Cross Plains and others. Education within the schools was seen as a top priority. Steve also attended the Dane County Towns Association meeting. Eighteen town's were represented. There was strong support for having the proposed Council of Governments deal only with water quality. Mark Sherven and Steve Frame attended the Wisconsin Towns Association meeting and became Board of Review certified by taking the training offered. Town Chairman Steve Frame made the following annual committee appointments: Steve Frame - Mt. Horeb Fire District and EMS representative Steve Frame and Barbara Grenlie - Driveway Committee Steve Frame, Mark Sherven, Dave Haugen - Road Committee This being the last meeting of Doug Meier's term on the board, Chairman Frame expressed appreciation on behalf of the board for his service to the town.

Horeb, on the Town web site and on the door of the Town Hall; also published in the News Sickle-Arrow and Mt. Horeb Mail newspapers. Present were: Chairman, Steven Frame; Supervisors, Bill Hanson, David Dybdahl, and Mark Sherven; Town Clerk Marian Swoboda and Treasurer Sarah Danz. Chairman Frame replied that he had recently asked the patrolman to sand the the town clerk's driveway, if that was what she was referring to, so that she could get to the office to complete some needed work for the town. He explained that he had asked the patrolman to sand her road not as a private citizen but as clerk of the town. Chairman Frame asked the board if they had any objections to the action he had taken. No objections were voiced. Chairman Frame and Mark Sherven volunteered.

The meeting was called to order at 8:20 p.m. following a joint meeting with the Plan Commission by Chairman, Steven Frame.

Present: Chairman, Steven Frame; Supervisors, Barbara Grenlie, Bill Hanson, David Dybdahl, Mark Sherven; Clerk Marian Swoboda and Treasurer Sarah Danz. Motion was made by Steven Frame seconded by David Dybdahl and carried to table consideration of an employee hourly rate of pay for elected officials until the 2005 budget meeting.
