Steven L. Brooks
Steven L. Brooks is a partner in the mergers and acquisitions practice group with the law firm of Friday Eldredge & Clark.
practices in the Rogers, Arkansas office of the firm representing clients across the state in structuring acquisitions and dispositions of privately held companies and related capital formation, commercial transactions including syndicated real estate transactions, commercial lending and restructuring, and taxation of business enterprises.
practice is concentrated on capital formation in connection with private offerings of securities and related tax matters, complex commercial lending transactions, corporate, subchapter S and partnership taxation, IRS audit protests, and planning for start up companies.
Prior to joining the Friday law firm, Mr. Brooks
practiced as a CPA with Moore Stephens Frost Financial Group in the tax section from 1995 to 1998.
Mr. Brooks left private practice in August 1998 to work in house as a senior tax accountant with Tyson Foods, where he worked with the IRS and state tax auditors on corporate income tax issues.
Mr. Brooks graduated from the Walton College of Business in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as an Accounting major.
While in law school at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Mr. Brooks was a member of the Law Review and published The Venture Capital Act of 2001, Arkansas's Vision for Economic Growth, found at 56 Ark. L. Rev. 397, 2003.
Mr. Brooks was also a member of the Board of Advocates and graduated from Law School Cum Laude in 2003.
Mr. Brooks is a member of the Arkansas Bar, Tax Section, ASCPA, AICPA, American Bar Association and Washington County Bar Associations.
Mr. Brooks is active with the Arkansas Venture Forum, committee comprised of like minded individuals who want to promote seed and venture capital formation in the state of Arkansas and keep promising Arkansas based companies actually in Arkansas.
Mr. Brooks is also a member of the Walton College of Business Alumni Advisory Council, and speaker and guest lecturer at the Business College.
Mr. Brooks is also a lecturer at the ASCPA's Federal Tax Institute.
