Stephen Schillo, vice president of administration and finance, will be leaving the college.
It was announced by SUNY Fredonia President Virginia Horvath that Schillo will resign for personal reasons in January.
College Council Chair Frank Pagano expressed his gratitude for Schillo over the past year.
Schillo came to SUNY Fredonia last November to fill the vacant position.
"We've had many meetings and lunches ... Steve
has really done an outstanding job over there," he
has "mixed feelings" about leaving Fredonia.
"Thank you for your kind words.
I will assure you that my impression of what I have learned from finance and administration is the directors and the managers within the division they are professional and they are self starters," said Schillo
talked about some of the initiatives the department is currently working on including utilizing the College Lodge, which is owned by the Faculty Student Association
The lodge is currently in the process of a biological survey to figure out what living species are based on the site.
"Every season of the year there are people tromping around the woods up there inventorying the ... plants and the animals.
A year from next fall, we will have a full report on the biological inventory, if you will, the plants and animals that are on the roughly 200-acre parcel up there.
From that we'll develop a plan on how to use that property in the future.
It's pretty neat that the survey is being done," Schillo
also spoke of a software program the college is using for training purposes.
