In a conversation with Steve Laube the possibility of passing the mantle was raised and eventually the sale was completed on January 1, 2014.

I believed that it was providential (it was obvious God was coordinating things) when I got to meet Steve Laube, the editor of science fiction at Bethany House.
...
The next day Diann and I were able to sit at the same table with Steve, and he told me to send him the manuscript.
I remember taking a walk on the mountainside behind the retreat facility, rejoicing to the Lord at how things had come together.I sent Steve the manuscript and waited for nearly a year.I had spent probably three years' worth of my before-breakfast writing time working on that 500-page novel, and I was anxious to hear from him.
Eventually I could wait no longer, so I e-mailed him.He e-mailed back that apparently the manuscript had gotten lost in the shuffle, and he wanted to know whether I could resubmit it.Well, I thought, at least it hasn't been rejected; Steve still wants to see it.I sent it again, and again I waited.
A couple of months later I received a package from Steve Laube.

With Steve Laube as her champion (see the interview with Steve here) she published her Firebird series of Christian science fiction: Firebird, Fusion Fire, and Crown of Fire at Bethany House.
...
Three of her SF novels were originally published by a secular company (Bantam Spectra) but Steve brought them to the CBA in his role as acquiring editor at Bethany.
...
That was the conference at which I met Steve Laube.

WhereTheMapEnds: Those of us who love Christian speculative fiction all owe a debt of gratitude to Steve, not only for what he did for you but for what he did and continues to do for the industry.
