"We consider our website to be a significant member benefit," says Steve Kronmiller, AACC Media Development Manager and overseer of the site's redesign.
"But it's also a resource for nonmembers so our focus was on providing access to information quickly and easily."Kronmiller
says the newly enhanced site will feature news and information on the Association's activities directly from the homepage so people can see at a glance what's happening.Finding other information and resources will be faster and easier too with cascading menus that show the entire contents of each area.
Other changes include the addition of a permanent link to the monthly feature articles from AACC's premier journal, Cereal Chemistry, along with a "Grain Bin" section that will house all past reports and special features that have appeared on the site.Kronmiller
says members and nonmembers alike will now be able to access the table of contents for the widely used AACC Methods of Analysis along with the abstracts for the individual methods themselves.Cereal Chemistry abstracts too, once available only to subscribers, will also become searchable for all users.Access to full text articles still requires an online subscription.
More changes are planned over the coming months, says Kronmiller
, including the addition of an all-site search feature for both current and archived information along with more sophisticated search options for technical and scientific material.
