March 22, 2006 - The Central Hockey League has today announced the recipients of two new awards this season, honoring Tulsa Equipment Manager Steve Enlow and Laredo Athletic Trainer Bobby Moore.
...Enlow has been named the 2005-2006 CHL Equipment Manager of the Year, "Presented annually to the CHL Equipment Manager selected by his or her peers to have performed their duties with the highest level of professionalism in honor of Gunner Garrett, former Austin Ice Bats Equipment Manager."Enlow has spent the past 26 years of his career as an Equipment Manager, 24 of those with the Tulsa Oilers dating back to 1970.In the 1977-78 season, Enlow became the Head Equipment Manager for the Colorado Rockies of the National Hockey League before returning to Tulsa for the final few years of the ‘old' CHL and was a member of the Oilers 1983-1984 Adams Cup Championship squad.Enlow would take another one year hiatus from Tulsa to work with the Dallas Freeze of the CHL in 1993-94, once again rejoining the Oilers in 1994-95 and performing his duties as Equipment Manager ever since.
At the end of the current 2005-06 season, Enlow
will have worked a total of 1603 professional games.
