Do I win a prize if I guess Ex81rider is Steve Cook and I'm right?
If it is you Steve, I'd like to extend a big fuck you on behalf of my Forastero friends!!! Since some of our readers are now lost let me just briefly explain that Steve Cook is a detective with the Independence, Missouri Police Department and both the Executive Director and President of the Midwest Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Investigators Association. The Midwest Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Investigators Association was formed for the purpose of providing relevant and current training on Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMG), to facilitate intelligence sharing within the Midwestern region and to encourage fraternity amongst interested law enforcement professionals within the Midwestern United States. The states represented by the MWOMGIA are Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Ohio. Steve has actively worked motorcycle gangs for the past ten years. Steve has trained numerous agencies on run enforcement and has been on details for four Hells Angels USA Runs. Steve is very experienced in methamphetamine conspiracy investigations and to date has been the case agent in the Federal prosecutions of over 150 methamphetamine manufacturers and distributors in the Western District of Missouri. Steve has extensive undercover experience and was the case agent and a secondary undercover in an outlaw motorcycle gang infiltration case conducted in Missouri and Kansas. In 2003 Steve was sent to Kosovo by the Department of Justice to teach Prosecutors and Judges how undercover and sensitive operations are conducted. Steve is also a recipient of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Distinguished Service Award. Steve has successfully prosecuted members of the Hells Angels, Sons of Silence, El Forastero, and Galloping Goose motorcycle gangs for methamphetamine and firearms charges and has appeared on the History Channel's Gangland series and has been featured in several news publications regarding Outlaw Motorcycle Gang activity throughout the United States. "Another interesting tidbit is that COOK'S father is the former Independence Chief of Police. My only point is that it has been shown in court that COOK is a weasel, and this was probably covered for by having Daddy as Chief for a good portion of his early career.
Independence detectives Carl Perry and Steve Cook were among four honored, along with Jeff Seever and Phil Hininger, for their work curbing motorcyle gang activity
Steve Cook, a detective with the Independence Police Department, considered the recent Interstate 70 traffic stop of the infamous motorcycle gang more of a cursory check than a bust. While the investigations were performed locally, the charges later came from the federal level, a development that Cook and others on his team were proud of. In August, Cook, Perry, officer Jeff Seever and Sgt. Both Perry and Cook list the El Forastero gang as "dead." In the '90s, Cook was a member of the Jackson County Drug Task Force and wanted to make "a run at them," but little success followed. When he entered the Crime Investigative Unit in the early 2000s, they were able to prosecute three gang members through the federal court. For Cook, his understanding led to a specialty in gangs, one that would lead him into teaching classes on the subject and an appearance on the History Channel's "Gangland" show. From informant work and controlled buys, through witness testimony, the unit made six arrests during its first round of indictments; 11 arrests in its second round; and six in the last round, Cook said. Perry and Cook said the group is steadily moving into the Midwest, and Missouri has its own flagship control based in Springfield. For Cook, one gets the feeling that his work on motorcycle gangs - their sociology, their psychology, their overall culture - isn't finished. In addition to his gang work, his specialty, he has completed assignments with the Drug Enforcement Administation's Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Team and investigative work with the FBI. More involvement, it would appear, is to come. "I'm still going strong," he said.
