Jeffrey Steven Clay
, 33, was supposed to be at a work-related conference off campus when he
was arrested around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Chihuahua on El Paso's south side.

Court documents indicate that the conversation between Clay
and the undercover officer was recorded through a body wire and video surveillance.
The arrest was part of a police operation targeting prostitution, records show.Clay was named principal at MacArthur in September 2004 after holding the same position at Travis Elementary.He graduated from Coronado High and has degrees from Lubbock Christian University and New Mexico State University.
