DCRTV broke the news on October 8th that news anchor and reporter Steve Chenevey (right) was leaving Channel 7/WJLA to return to Channel 5/WTTG, which he left in early 2012. Now, we get official confirmation from Fox-owned WTTG that Chenevey will anchor the station's morning newscasts, with Tony Perkins moving to evenings, replacing Brian Bolter, who recently left to run several restaurants in Annapolis.
Chenevey will co-anchor "Fox 5 Morning News" along side Allison Seymour, beginning November 4th.
A well-placed source at Allbritton's Channel 7/WJLA tells us that news anchor Steve Chenevey (right) is leaving the ABC affiliate. He was hired away from Fox-owned Channel 5/WTTG in early 2012. Chenevey had been anchoring WJLA's morning news until he was replaced with Scott Thuman earlier this year. Since then, he's been a general assignment reporter. So where is Chenevey going? We're told that he's heading back to WTTG, where he starts in November.

Washington, DC - Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen joined Fox 5's Steve Chenevey to discuss the latest on the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) data breach and his legislative effort to ensure all those affected have lifetime identity theft protection.
STEVE CHENEVEY, WTTG: Questions still remain this morning after that massive government hacking scandal and data breach.
CHENEVEY: Hope you had a good weekend.
CHENEVEY: Well, and not just the protection now, but maybe better notification, too, since apparently one of the things that led to Katherine Archuleta's downfall was the revelation that this actually came out months ago and it took awhile for people to realize their data had been compromised.
