One of the state's preeminent entertainment writers, Bornfeld joins Vegas Seven as our newest associate editor. A fan of the word "peripatetic," he has worked for 30 years as a features editor, writer and columnist at newspapers and magazines from New York to Las Vegas. Stops included Hearst Newspapers, Gannett News Service, the New York Post and both the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Las Vegas Sun. Honored by the Nevada Press Association, Best of the West and the Society for Features Journalism, he has extensively covered the arts, including the development of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. A Bronx boy at heart, his only complaint about Las Vegas is that he can't take the subway to work.

"We didn't realize how much time we were spending on this until our pictures started popping up on the backs of milk cartons," says Associate Editor Steve Bornfeld, who ramrodded the massive undertaking.Fortunately, Bornfeld didn't have to shoulder the burden alone.A born delegator, he conscripted everyone in the vicinity of Las Vegas Life into the project, then started barking out assignments. Some of the core team members include (above, standing) writer Geoff Carter, Assistant Art Director Ann Petitt, Life Food Editor Max Jacobson, Bornfeld, and (seated, left) Art Director Deny Howeth and Editorial Assistant Danielle Reed.
"Just to be sure there was no hanky-panky," Bornfeld adds, "we had our list recounted by the Florida Board of Elections. It's 100, on the nose."
