Lieutenant Steve Blower
Lieutenant Steve Blower started his law enforcement career in 1988 after being honorably discharged from the United States Army.
returned to Napa where he
put himself through the 9th Napa College Basic Police Academy
using the Veterans Educational Assistance Program.
He was hired by the Napa Sheriff's Office in January of 1989 after he graduated in the top three of his academy class.
Steve worked on Patrol in unincorporated American Canyon and was the first Deputy assigned to the City of American Canyon after incorporation in 1992.
He was a member of the first gang task force in Napa County, the Investigations Division and the Napa Special Investigations Bureau.
After being promoted to Sergeant in 1999 he worked in the Napa Special Investigations Bureau, Patrol Division, Coroner's Office, Civil Process Unit, Transportation Unit, Court Security and Investigations Division.
Steve is a graduate of the POST Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute.
Steve is currently assigned as the Lieutenant of Professional Standards and Training and Law Enforcement Liaison at the Napa County Department of Corrections and the Sheriff's Department Court Services and Prisoner Transportation Unit.
Steve is the first Lieutenant to serve in this position, which is a partnership between the Napa County Department of Corrections and the Napa Sheriff's Office to support the growing needs of both departments.
