Sterling Sakai is is our Field Supervisor.
Sterling is a retired administrator from California State University, Hayward, with over 27 years of experience as a classroom instructor, student organization advisor and campus/community liaison.
For many years Sterling has been a long time volunteer and supporter of our parks.
As our field supervisor, he oversees our scheduled community trail day activities in the parks, and acts as the liaison with park rangers for the scheduling and supervision for volunteers for our planned workdays.

About the Instructor: Highlands Resident, Sterling Sakai, is a third degree black belt in Jido Kwan Tae Kwon Do and is a nationally certified instructor with Rape Aggression Defense Programs.He also teaches classes in women's self-defense principles and techniques at California State University, Hayward, and in the San Mateo County Community College District.His class will teach basic physical & psychological self-defense strategies using kicks, punches, blocks, household objects and much more.A great class for single women, married women, mothers, daughters, children 12 and over, and seniors.
